Weapons and Material Handling

Since its inception, FEC has provided our defense and commercial customers with innovative solutions to complex weapons and material handling problems. FEC has a very successful history of developing and producing systems that can safely and reliably transfer specialized cargo in accordance with our customers’ requirements. From unique conveyance systems transporting palletized goods to robust elevators moving heavy weapons to ammunition hoists carrying small arms, FEC has proven to very resourceful providing handling systems for any scenario no matter how challenging.




Advanced Weapons Elevator (AWE)


Federal Equipment Company (FEC) has developed an Advanced Weapons Elevator (AWE) with MagneMotion and Northrop Grumman Newport News for the U.S. Navy's new Aircraft Carrier class. In 2005 FEC was awarded a contract from Northrop Grumman to design and build the AWE for the CVN 78 Aircraft Carrier, the USS Gerald Ford. Automated Shipboard Material Handling


FEC recently completed a 5-year program with Advanced Technology International (ATI) through the Office of Naval Research (ONR) for development of a Proof of Concept (POC) for an automated shipboard material handling system. FEC was down selected through a Phase 1 and Phase 1B to build a working prototype of our concept for Phase 2. Learn More
